Bertha Bint was born at Christchurch, New Zealand on the the 6th of April 1885 the daughter of Philip and Charlotte Bint who had migrated to New Zealand from the UK on the Cardigan Castle arriving in 1877.She was baptised  at the same time as her younger brother Lester at St Matthew's Church on the 6th of November 1887. The family's home address at the time was Crescent Road, St Albans, Christchurch.
It was around 1890 that the Bint family moved up to the North Island and settled on 453 acres at Tarata, Taranaki. Their tenth child Catherine (Kate) was born  there in July 1892.

Bertha Bint married William Gallaher, who was born in County Donegal, Ireland in 1871, on the 23rd of May 1922.

Their son Philip James Gallaher was born at New Plymouth in 1923. He married Nita Jean Clemo in 1948. They had four children, Margaret, Helen, Catherine and Brian.

The Bint siblings assembled in older age - I  have yet to identify them all - Catherine is in the centre and Will is the one with the bushy moustache I believe - haven't yet tried matching the other faces but no doubt Lester and or Walter is probably there.       Stephanie
